[Financial News] Samsung C&T’s construction division is stepping up efforts to build an open ecosystem, using its building platform Bynd to drive the artificial intelligence transformation (AX) of commercial buildings.
Samsung C&T said on the 21st that it held the “SIGNAL 2026” Partners Day event on the 20th at Neuromeka’s headquarters in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, with around 100 industry representatives in attendance, including building owners, asset managers, tenant companies and solution providers. The event was organized to strengthen an open collaborative ecosystem that brings fragmented building data—such as facilities, energy and access data—together to create new spatial value and improve operational efficiency.
The event name, “Signal,” conveys the idea of deriving meaningful operational indicators from complex building data and turning them into business opportunities. At the event, keynote sessions by Yeo Gyeong-seon, an executive director at Mastern Investment Management, and the head of strategy at Liner AI explored the financial value of smart buildings and how offices may evolve in the era of AI agents.

In particular, Samsung C&T highlighted Bynd’s data-fusion structure, which goes beyond the limitations of individual solutions. By combining data with access records, for example, the platform can detect clear signals such as “occupancy in vacant spaces” or “areas of energy waste.” As partner technologies are added, the platform’s data resolution can be increased. In the seven “Partner Wall” zones set up at the venue, next-generation building management scenarios were demonstrated, showing how various partners’ technologies can be combined with Bynd.
Samsung C&T is continuing to expand its platform ecosystem to encompass the experience of people using spaces after construction, unveiling not only Bynd but also its residential platform Homnic, AI wellness solution Wellpy and AI senior-living solution Evering.
“Only when the perspectives of building owners, users and solution providers come together does a meaningful signal emerge,” said Kim Myeong-seok, head of Samsung C&T’s Housing Product Marketing Division. “Going forward, we will actively expand an open ecosystem centered on Bynd to create new spatial value and business opportunities.”
