[Financial News] Hyundai Motor Securities has provided hands-on education to elementary school students to help them learn basic financial concepts such as saving and investing.
According to the financial investment industry on the 21st, Hyundai Motor Securities held the ‘One Company, One School Financial Education’ program for 33 sixth-grade students at Sinbong Elementary School in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, the previous day. The program, organized by the Financial Supervisory Service, was established to improve students’ financial literacy by pairing financial companies with schools through sister-school partnerships.
Employees from Hyundai Motor Securities’ Consumer Protection Team took part as instructors in this session, explaining basic financial concepts such as spending, saving and investing. The students also took part in the financial board game ‘Money Spinner,’ which gave them a chance to experience financial principles firsthand.
Last August, Hyundai Motor Securities formed sister-school partnerships with three schools: Sinbong Elementary School, Aju Elementary School in Seoul, and Sinbaek Middle School in Hwaseong. The company plans to continue the education by visiting each school, and will also hold a customized special lecture for third-year high school students at Seongdong School in Incheon. In 2028, it plans to broaden the reach of its education into regional areas in collaboration with its branches.
A Hyundai Motor Securities official said, “We will continue to expand our financial education activities so that students can learn about finance more easily and feel more comfortable with it.”
Meanwhile, in February last year, the Financial Supervisory Service announced the ‘One Company, One School Financial Education Jump-Up’ program and has been working to narrow gaps in financial education between regions and expand education tailored to students.
