[Financial News] Lotte Chilsung Beverage is launching full-scale operations at an automated logistics center linking production and logistics.
According to industry sources on the 21st, Lotte Chilsung Beverage held a completion ceremony for its Daejeon Automated Logistics Center on the 20th in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon.
The Daejeon Logistics Center serves as a central hub connecting logistics centers nationwide and as a regional hub responsible for logistics operations in the Chungcheong region.
In particular, the Daejeon Logistics Center is the company’s first to feature a one-stop logistics system. The existing production building at the Daejeon plant has been directly connected to the logistics center, integrating the entire logistics process—from product manufacturing to picking, packing, transport and shipping—into a single system.
The plan is to strengthen the links between production and logistics, while making nationwide inventory management and regional product supply more efficient.
The logistics center uses an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS). The 44-meter-tall facility, equivalent in height to a 15-story apartment building, automates product storage and retrieval to improve operational accuracy.
Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are used for repetitive tasks such as loading and transport. In the central control room, the overall logistics process is managed and monitored in real time through a warehouse management system and an equipment control system.
A Lotte Chilsung Beverage official said, “We will continue to optimize and advance our logistics systems,” adding, “We plan to respond flexibly to the distribution market environment and continue to strengthen our competitiveness.”
