[Financial News] A dog owner whose pet’s tail was severed in a grooming accident after being left at a grooming shop was furious after the business offered three free grooming sessions.
A post recently appeared on an online community saying that a dog’s tail had been cut during grooming and that the business had responded in an outrageous manner.
The author, identified as A, began by saying, “Accidents do happen during dog grooming. The dogs may move, or something unexpected may happen. But I think what I’m writing about now should be described as an incident, not an accident.”
A said they recently left their dog at a grooming shop and received a call saying, “Its tail was cut off during grooming.”
After watching a video filmed by the business, A claimed, “This happened because they forcibly bent the dog’s upright tail downward and brushed it that way for their own convenience.”
A continued, “If what the business claims is true, shouldn’t the tailbone have been fractured? Then why was the tail severed?” A explained, “The forceful brushing tore away the skin and flesh covering the tailbone.”
A, who had entrusted the business with grooming their dog for more than 10 years, expressed a sense of betrayal and was especially furious about the compensation the business offered after the accident.
A said, “They say they’ll provide three free grooming sessions as compensation. After seeing that brushing, I don’t think I could leave my dog with them even if they offered 30 free sessions, let alone three.”
A added, “I had the tip of the tail stitched up at the hospital, but once the anesthesia wore off, my dog was in pain. And I’m so angry at the shop that I don’t want to let this go.”
People who read the account responded, “How hard did they brush for the tail to get cut off?” “What about the vet bills, and what are they going to do about the trauma the dog went through during grooming?” “Three grooming sessions? Are they kidding?” and “The dog can’t even speak—how much pain must it be in?”
