[Financial News] Bitcoin rose to around $82,000 as more than $500 million flowed into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs.
According to global crypto information platform CoinMarketCap, as of 10 a.m. on the 21st, Bitcoin was trading around $82,000, up 1.57% from the previous day (over a 24-hour period).
Bitcoin was trading around 110 million won on domestic crypto exchange Upbit. According to global crypto market comparison platform Cryprice, the Kimchi premium on Bitcoin was 0.36%.
The large recent inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs are seen as having partially restored investor sentiment. According to crypto data platform Farside Investors, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of $526.7 million on the 19th (local time), the largest amount since the 22nd of last month. In particular, $665.2 million flowed into BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, alone.
Expectations of diplomatic progress between the U.S. and Iran also appear to have contributed to the rise. According to crypto news outlet CoinDesk, the possibility of progress in negotiations between the U.S. and Iran was raised the previous day, sending international oil prices lower and prompting the New York stock market to turn higher.
CoinMarketCap’s Crypto Fear and Greed Index stood at 52, indicating “Neutral,” that day. The index ranges from 0 to 100: readings closer to 0 are interpreted as “Extreme Fear,” while those closer to 100 indicate “Extreme Greed.”
At the same time, Ethereum was trading around $2,449, up 2.10% from the previous day. XRP was trading around $1.33, up 3.06%.
