[Financial News] TRUEN is moving to strengthen its competitiveness in IP camera security by leveraging its in-house development capabilities for its artificial intelligence (AI) home camera brand, EGLOO. Its strategy is to enhance security management across its products through a system that allows it to develop and operate everything in-house, from hardware and firmware to dedicated applications and cloud servers.
TRUEN said on the 21st that it had applied its in-house security technologies and enhanced AI care features to its new product, the EGLOO S8 PRO, which is set to launch on the 26th.
Because home cameras handle footage of daily life inside the home, security is considered a key factor when choosing a product. Factors to consider include not only where the server is operated, but also the device’s authentication methods, data transmission architecture, firmware management, and security updates after launch.
TRUEN handles the entire development process for the EGLOO series in-house, from exterior design and mold production to hardware circuit design, selection of key components, firmware development, and the development and operation of dedicated apps and cloud servers. The company says it has established a system that links security reviews at the product design stage with post-launch maintenance, enabling it to respond to vulnerabilities.
Firmware is particularly important because it is core software that controls key functions such as camera operation, network communications, and authentication. TRUEN said that by developing and testing firmware in-house, it had gained the ability to manage the implementation and revision of security features and respond with updates if problems are found.
The new EGLOO S8 PRO is a premium model based on the existing EGLOO S8, with improved image quality and AI care features. It offers ultra-high-definition video and AI-based analysis, and uses encryption technology when video data is transmitted. The company plans to continue managing security through its in-house-developed firmware and server operations system.
A security industry official said, “The security of a home camera should be assessed by looking not just at the server’s location, but also at the overall architecture connecting the device, app, and server, as well as the maintenance system,” adding, “It is important to use in-house development capabilities to check for vulnerabilities and promptly provide necessary security updates.”
TRUEN provides three years of free warranty service (A/S) for the EGLOO S8 PRO. It plans to enhance reliability throughout the product’s use through ongoing software security updates and after-sales support, even after the product is sold.
A representative of the EGLOO home camera development team said, “When choosing a home camera, it is important to check not only whether it uses domestic servers, but also the development and management capabilities covering firmware, hardware, and servers,” adding, “We will continue security checks and updates through our in-house development system and create a home camera environment that consumers can use with confidence.”
