[Financial News] NAVER WORKS, NAVER Cloud’s artificial intelligence (AI) business collaboration platform, ranked first among major domestic collaboration tools for nine consecutive months in metrics including mobile users and total usage time. Its average monthly users were about twice those of the second-ranked service, and its total usage time was 2.7 times as high. After expanding its user base in the private market, the platform has also seen wider adoption in the public sector, with 18 central government bodies confirming their adoption of NAVER WORKS to date.
According to NAVER Cloud on the 21st, an analysis by Mobile Index, a mobile data analytics platform, of usage of eight major domestic collaboration tools from January through September this year found that NAVER WORKS ranked first every month in key metrics including monthly users, active devices, and total usage time.
In the third quarter of this year, NAVER WORKS averaged about 302,000 monthly users, nearly twice the 153,000 users of the second-ranked service. Its average monthly total usage time was 499,000 hours, 2.7 times the second-ranked service’s 186,000 hours. Its average monthly number of active devices was also higher, at 566,000 compared with 408,000 for the runner-up. During the same period, it recorded about 61,000 new installs, the highest number among the tools surveyed.
The survey compared usage data for Android and iOS mobile apps across eight collaboration tools developed by domestic companies: NAVER WORKS, Kakao Work, JANDI, Dooray!, Hiworks, Flow, BRiTi Messenger, and BRiTi Mail. PC and web usage data, as well as overseas collaboration tools, were excluded from the survey.
NAVER Cloud touts as its strengths an integrated work environment that provides a range of business functions, including messaging, on a single platform, along with its AI capabilities and security. The company says that using an interface familiar to users has reduced the learning burden for businesses and institutions adopting new collaboration tools.
Adoption of NAVER WORKS is also expanding in the public sector. Last March, the platform was selected as the official collaboration platform for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in a pilot project for OnAI (Intelligent Work Management Platform) launched by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Adoption later spread to agencies including the Korea Coast Guard, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Rural Development Administration, and the Public Procurement Service, bringing the total number of central government bodies that have confirmed adoption to 18.
NAVER WORKS is provided over government administrative networks as software as a service (SaaS) that has obtained Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification. Institutions such as the Ministry of Justice, Korea Post, and the Korea Coast Guard, where shift work and fieldwork are frequent or workplaces are dispersed, can use it for tasks such as handovers and schedule management.
A NAVER Cloud representative said, “Building on our service competitiveness proven in the private sector, as well as security and ease of use validated by public institutions, we will establish ourselves as a collaboration platform chosen by more public institutions.”
