According to YES24 on the 21st, the participatory service “AI One Question, 100 Answers” is collecting members’ views on a special question marking Dokdo Day through the 25th.
The question is: “October 25 is Dokdo Day. What is a good way to remember Dokdo, our land?” Members can choose one of three options, including “reading widely to gain accurate knowledge of history,” and leave their thoughts in the comments. They can also see similar views categorized by AI and the share represented by each major perspective. At least 15,000 people participated in the two days from its release on the 19th through the 20th.
Dokdo Day commemorates the historical significance of Imperial Decree No. 41, issued by the Korean Empire on October 25, 1900. The decree designated Dokdo as part of Uldo County’s jurisdiction.
Launched last May, “AI One Question, 100 Answers” is a service for sharing views on reading and social and cultural topics. According to YES24’s tally, 322,556 members participated over the 23 weeks from May 11 to October 18.
The question that drew the most participation was about “Text Hip.” About 45,000 people voted from the 28th of last month through the 4th of this month, and about 33,000 (74%) described it as “a positive trend that makes reading culture attractive.”
About 41,000 people shared their views on reading books in a bookstore without buying them. Of the responses, 49% said, “It’s problematic because books are products, too,” while 42% said, “It’s fine because knowledge should be shared.” The service also addressed whether books written by AI can broaden people’s perspectives.
“I hope this special question for Dokdo Day will provide an opportunity to once again reflect on the meaning and value of Dokdo, our land,” said Kim Ju-seong, head of marketing at YES24.
