[Financial News] Elice Group, an AI infrastructure company that had been the most anticipated IPO prospect of the second half of this year, staged a sharp rebound early in trading on the second day after its KOSDAQ listing and hit the upper price limit.
According to the Korea Exchange, as of 9:30 a.m. on the 21st, Elice was trading at 79,900 won, up 18,400 won (29.92%) from the previous trading day.
On the first day of its KOSDAQ listing the previous day, Elice closed at 61,500 won, down 32.04% from its IPO price of 90,500 won.
Elice’s sharp drop on its first day of listing drew attention as a case that fueled doubts about global investment in AI infrastructure. Major foreign media analyzed that the decline reflected market doubts about the high valuations of AI companies and the possibility of recouping investment costs, beyond the poor listing performance of a single company.
Elice had been considered the biggest IPO prospect of the second half of this year after its public offering subscription attracted strong demand. The subscription for retail investors on the 7th and 8th recorded a competition ratio of 408 to 1. Subscription deposits of about 10.2599 trillion won poured in.
