[Financial News]  APR has published in an international journal research results that scientifically evaluated the effects of using home beauty devices together with cosmetics.
According to industry sources on the 21st, a study by APR’s affiliated Global Skin Science Research Institute, titled “Effects of Combining an Electroporation (EP) Technology-Based Home Beauty Device with Cosmetics on Skin Appearance and Condition,” was recently published in the international journal Cosmetics. Published by international academic publisher MDPI, Cosmetics is a peer-reviewed journal ranked Q1, the highest tier in the journal evaluation system for the relevant field.
The study was conducted to assess, using objective indicators, changes in the skin resulting from the combined use of EP technology-based home beauty devices and cosmetics.
EP is a technology that uses electrical stimulation to help deliver substances. The researchers compared the combined use of a device employing this technology and cosmetics with cosmetics alone, analyzing skin permeability and improvements in skin appearance.
The study used APR beauty brand Medicube’s “Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) Pink Peptide Ampoule” and AGE-R’s “Booster Pro Mini Plus.”
The results showed that, in an artificial skin tissue model, skin permeability was significantly higher in the group using the device in combination with cosmetics than in the control group. Human application tests also found significant improvements in some indicators, including skin radiance and brightness. After four weeks of use, the improvement in skin radiance was 16.4% in areas where the device was used in combination with cosmetics, compared with 8.6% in areas where cosmetics were used alone, with the combined-use areas showing greater improvement.
APR said the significance of the study was that it evaluated the effects of using the device and cosmetics together under conditions similar to real-world consumer use.
APR is conducting research on the efficacy and safety of cosmetics and home beauty devices, led by its Global Skin Science Research Institute. The company is strengthening its research framework, spanning the early stages of product development through to human application tests, and plans to continue scientific validation by incorporating the latest technologies and academic trends in dermatology and cosmetic science.
An APR representative said, “Through this study, we secured scientific evidence by analyzing the combined effects of the two products from multiple angles through nonclinical evaluations and human application tests,” adding, “We will continue research and development based on scientific evidence to enhance product competitiveness and expand the research foundation for skincare solutions that link devices and cosmetics.”
