According to the Community Chest of Korea on the 21st, it will hold the Lottery Fund talk concert ‘It’s Okay to Fall’ with the Lottery Commission at 2 p.m. on the 24th at the Art Hall of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Design Promotion Institute.
Professor Kim will explain how children overcome challenges and build inner strength, addressing the questions ‘Why is appropriate frustration necessary?’ and ‘How can we build our children’s resilience?’ After the lecture, he will hold an in-person Q&A with the audience.
The event was organized to raise awareness of the Lottery Fund’s role in supporting the healthy development of children and adolescents and to foster a positive parenting culture.
The Lottery Fund is financed by proceeds from lottery ticket sales and is used to support vulnerable groups and public-interest projects.
Last year, the Community Chest of Korea allocated 47.4 billion won from the Lottery Fund to programs including nighttime care for children and adolescents from low-income families and support to improve the social adaptation skills of children with borderline intellectual functioning. The nighttime care program provides learning and cultural experience activities, as well as guidance for getting home, to children and adolescents who lack care during nighttime hours.
Lee Jeong-yun, head of the Community Chest of Korea’s Sharing Projects Division, said, “I hope this talk concert will give caregivers an opportunity to recognize their children’s potential and capacity for growth, and to consider how they can help their children overcome challenges on their own and grow.”
Anyone can attend the talk concert for free, and applications will be accepted through the day of the event. For more information, see the notices on the Community Chest of Korea website.
