[Financial News] A video showing a lunch delivery worker in Daegu being assaulted by a woman they had never met, and the woman trampling on the roof of the delivery vehicle, has been spreading online.
On the 21st, a building’s CCTV footage showing a disturbance at a delivery site was posted on the social media platform Threads alongside a recent post saying, “Being self-employed is this difficult and grueling.”
The incident occurred on the 12th of this month in Chilseong-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu. Employee A of a Daegu lunchbox company was attacked by woman B while loading lunchboxes into a delivery vehicle parked by the roadside.
In the released CCTV footage, B approaches A, who is arranging lunchboxes, as if dancing. She then climbs onto a bench piled with lunchboxes, strikes A several times and starts throwing objects nearby.
B also snatches the hat A is wearing and hits A in the face, and even uses the open vehicle door as a step to climb onto the roof.
According to the company, A called the police at the scene, explained what had happened and handed B over to them. The police asked whether A wanted to file a report, but A did not file a report over either the assault or the damage to the vehicle.
The company said, “The police explained procedures related to hospitalization for up to 72 hours, depending on the circumstances, and we don’t know what happened afterward,” adding, “The employee also does not want the other party to be punished.”
