[Financial News] The Korea Police World Expo, showcasing future policing equipment powered by advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous patrol robots, opened in Incheon.
The National Police Agency said on the 21st that the 2026 Korea Police World Expo (KPEX) had opened at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. The four-day event, running through the 24th, features 245 companies from Korea and abroad showcasing advanced policing technologies and safety equipment across about 880 booths.
Now in its eighth edition, KPEX is jointly hosted by the National Police Agency and Incheon Metropolitan City. Under the theme “A New Era of K-Policing Powered by AI and Robotics,” it aims to showcase the technological competitiveness of Korea’s policing companies and support their expansion into overseas markets.
This year’s exhibition focuses on future policing industry sectors, including physical AI, robotics, information security and AI startups. It will showcase a range of technologies for crime prevention and field response, including AI video analysis systems, autonomous patrol robots, policing drones, forensic investigation equipment and cybersecurity technologies.
A program has been arranged in which police officers in the field will directly evaluate AI patrol robots. They will assess the robots’ performance, safety and ease of use. Based on the evaluation results, the National Police Agency plans to support efforts to ensure that the needs of officers in the field are reflected in companies’ technology development and that outstanding products can be used in actual police work.
Export consultation sessions will also be held to help Korea’s policing companies expand overseas. Eighty-two overseas buyers invited from 31 countries will take part, alongside procurement consultations with public institutions, an Incheon City CCTV procurement consultation, and consultations with correctional institutions. Business tours tailored to the needs of individual companies and investment consultations for the National Safety Industry Fund will also be held.
Discussions on responding to international crime and advanced policing technologies will also take place. The National Police Agency will convene for the first time a general meeting of an international cooperation consultative body to coordinate responses to scams and other forms of organized fraud that cross national borders. In addition, around 40 academic conferences and seminars, including the “SAFE AI Security Summit 2026” and a public safety communications network forum, will share technology and policy trends in policing and security.
Members of the public will also be able to experience police activities. Police fitness tests, police equipment demonstrations, traffic safety activities and a police large-motorcycle competition will be held during the event.
Park Hyun-soo, director general of the National Police Agency’s Future Policing Policy Bureau, said, “The Korea Police World Expo is an important event that identifies advanced technologies needed in the field and supports the growth and overseas expansion of Korea’s policing companies.” He added, “We will continue to actively support the adoption of outstanding policing technologies in the field so they can help improve public safety, and work to develop the K-policing industry into a future growth industry.”
Meanwhile, the 2026 Future Policing International Youth Short Film Festival, jointly organized by the National Police Agency and the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, will be held on the 22nd as part of the event. A total of 13 films by elementary, middle and high school students will receive awards, including nine main prizes and four special prizes. The total prize money is 20 million won.
