[Financial News] A heavily intoxicated male passenger was arrested after causing a disturbance for more than 30 minutes aboard an express bus traveling from Seoul to another region, spitting on the floor and smoking inside. Other passengers were gripped by anxiety and fear over the commotion in the enclosed vehicle traveling at high speed.
According to JTBC’s “Sageon Banjang” on the 19th, an intoxicated passenger identified as B threatened other passengers and caused a disturbance aboard an express bus traveling from Seoul to another region on the evening of the 17th.
According to A, who was at the scene, B was already heavily intoxicated before boarding. As soon as the bus set off, he repeatedly coughed and retched, then began spitting phlegm onto the floor as if vomiting. He also behaved disgracefully, including putting his feet on the seatback in front of him.
When a nearby passenger protested, asking him to put his feet down, B shouted, “Hit me, hit me!” and brazenly acted as though he were the one being wronged. He even lit a cigarette and smoked aboard the moving bus.
Passengers were too frightened to intervene actively, fearing that the man might attack the driver in the enclosed space and cause a major accident. Some passengers filmed the scene on their phones, but B was unfazed and continued his brazen rampage for more than 30 minutes.
After one passenger could no longer stand it and called 112, the bus made an emergency stop at a nearby highway rest area. Responding police took B into custody and are investigating the exact circumstances, focusing on suspected obstruction of business and a violation of the National Health Promotion Act, among other possible charges.
