According to Miral Welfare Foundation on the 20th, members of ‘Shining Star’ voluntarily raised donations and delivered them to the foundation after Son Bin-a hosted MBC’s fundraising broadcast ‘A Miracle in Autumn.’ Following a one-time donation, they are also taking part in regular giving.
‘A Miracle in Autumn’ is a fundraising broadcast jointly planned by the foundation and MBC. It shares the stories of families in crisis who urgently need treatment but cannot receive appropriate care because of financial hardship, and encourages viewers to donate. Son Bin-a, singer Jeon Yu-jin and actor Yoo Sun served as co-hosts.
Among the stories in Part 1 released by the foundation was that of 13-year-old Chaewon, who was featured in ‘A Miracle in Spring’ last April. Chaewon still needs ongoing treatment despite having undergone several surgeries for neurofibromatosis.
A fan cafe representative said, “The fans wanted to mark Son Bin-a’s first challenge as an MC in a meaningful way, so we came together and joined in giving,” adding, “We hope the small contribution raised by our ‘Bitbyeol’ will be a warm ray of starlight that brightens the dark days of families in need.”
A foundation representative said, “We will do our utmost to provide support so that the precious kindness you have shared can become a true ‘miracle in autumn’ for families in crisis burdened by medical costs.”
Part 1 of ‘A Miracle in Autumn’ aired on the 16th, and Part 2 will be broadcast on MBC at 6:05 p.m. on the 23rd. Viewers who wish to donate can use the foundation’s fundraising phone line or its online recurring-donation portal.
