[Financial News] Two male customers caused a disturbance at a barbecue restaurant in Seoul because the dol sushi they ordered was different from what they had expected. They reportedly spilled food onto the grill, threw a bowl of shredded scallions, and even hurled the mobile phone they had been handed so they could speak with the owner.
A disturbance that occurred at around 3 p.m. on September 26 at a barbecue restaurant in Seoul was covered on JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor,” which aired on the 19th.
The two male customers ordered two servings of meat and alcohol at the restaurant. After finishing their meal, they ordered dol sushi as well.
Dol sushi is a dish of rice seasoned with vinegar, served so it can be wrapped in meat and eaten. But the customers were unhappy when they were served rice presented differently from ordinary sushi.
They complained to an employee that the food was different from what they had expected, saying, “We ordered sushi—why are you giving us this?”
The employee explained that this was how the dish was normally served. He said, “This is dol sushi; it’s a menu item that’s normally served this way.”
But the men took issue with the fact that they had already finished the meat, protesting, “Then it should have been served along with the meat.”
Their complaints escalated to throwing food and tableware. One of the men poured food onto the grill, while the other picked up and threw a bowl of shredded scallions.
Other customers dining nearby were startled by the unexpected disturbance and watched the men’s behavior.
The owner was not at the restaurant when the disturbance occurred. After an employee contacted him, the owner tried to call to find out what had happened.
The employee handed the men a mobile phone so they could speak with the owner, but one of the customers took it and hurled it onto the table. The phone was reportedly damaged by the impact.
