Korea Rural Community Corporation earns AI management certification, first among agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs

[Financial News] Korea Rural Community Corporation said on the 20th that it had obtained certification for its AI management system (ISO/IEC 42001).
The international standard was jointly developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It is designed to manage risks that may arise throughout the entire process, from AI development to operation and use, and to establish a framework for responsible use.
Korea Rural Community Corporation has been using AI in its day-to-day work while building a management framework for its safe operation. It established standards for AI ethics, personal information protection, information security and other areas, enabling it to systematically manage risks that may arise in the course of using AI. It also built its own platform, the “KRC Generative AI System,” enabling employees to use generative AI in handling work involving internal regulations, audits and public complaints.
This is the first such certification among agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Korea Rural Community Corporation President Kim In-jung said, “Alongside the AI transition, we are also strengthening our management framework for safe and responsible use.” He added, “Building on an operational foundation aligned with international standards, we will expand the use of AI and provide public services that farmers, fishers and the public can use with confidence and trust.”
