According to financial industry sources on the 20th, the Financial Ethics Certification Center, an affiliate of the Korea Financial Talent Development Institute, held the “2026 Integrated Training for Compliance Officers” on the 13th at Suhyup Bank’s headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul, for around 130 compliance officers from the head office and branches.
The training was organized to meet recent calls across the financial industry to strengthen accountability for internal controls and incident-prevention systems, and to improve frontline staff’s regulatory compliance and incident-prevention capabilities.
Seong Su-yong, director of the Korea Financial Talent Development Institute, served as the instructor and covered the status of implementation of incident-prevention measures, the status of compliance-monitoring work, major financial incident cases, and findings. “Internal control is not the responsibility of any one department; it is a fundamental principle that all executives and employees must put into practice together,” Seong said. “We will actively work to prevent financial incidents in advance through ongoing, effective training and to establish an organizational culture that earns trust.”
The Korea Financial Talent Development Institute plans to expand tailored internal-control and ethics training to strengthen the implementation of internal controls at financial institutions’ branches and help them respond to regulatory changes, including the introduction of responsibility maps.
Meanwhile, the Korea Financial Talent Development Institute is working to strengthen financial ethics capabilities, including by providing “Financial Ethics Qualification Certification” training for employees of the Daejeon Credit Guarantee Foundation.
