【Hanoi, Vietnam—Correspondent Kim Jun-seok】CJ Logistics has completed its acquisition of a 20,843-square-meter logistics facility in Dong Nai, Vietnam, from Japan's Daiwa House. The deal came a few months after CJ Logistics secured the entire stake in its joint logistics business with Gemadept, as part of a plan to expand its investment in logistics warehouses in Vietnam.
Local media reported on the 20th that Cushman & Wakefield Vietnam, a commercial real estate advisory firm, said CJ Logistics and Daiwa House had recently completed the transfer of ownership of a high-end logistics facility in Dong Nai City, southern Vietnam, that meets international standards. The specific transaction amount was not disclosed.
Cushman & Wakefield said the deal marks CJ Logistics' first step into Dong Nai City, a key logistics hub in southern Vietnam, and is expected to provide an opportunity to significantly expand its local network. It also characterized the deal as a representative example of rapidly surging demand for high-quality industrial and logistics assets in Vietnam.
CJ Logistics Vietnam has officially added the facility to its network listing as the “Dong Nai Long Duc Delivery Center.” As of 2026, CJ Logistics Vietnam operates 24 distribution centers and logistics hubs across the country, with a combined area of more than 450,000 square meters. It has around 1,300 local specialists and handles an average of more than 1,500 transport operations a day.
The facility acquired in this deal is part of Daiwa House's “DPL Vietnam Long Duc” project. Located in Long Duc Industrial Park in Dong Nai City, it was completed in September 2023. About 50 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City and about 40 kilometers from the southern key ports of Cat Lai and Cai Mep-Thi Vai, it is a multi-tenant logistics facility available for lease with excellent accessibility.
The acquisition is part of CJ Logistics' plan to expand its investment in Vietnam following its restructuring with Gemadept. On April 1 this year, CJ Logistics acquired an additional 49.1% stake in CJ Gemadept Logistics Holdings, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. It also carried out an asset swap by transferring its 49% stake in CJ Gemadept Shipping Holdings to Gemadept, and finalized all the transactions on June 30.
When it reached its agreement with Gemadept, CJ Logistics said it would exclude shipping transportation from its core portfolio and focus its capabilities on the contract logistics (CL) business in Vietnam. Accordingly, it plans to consider investing in assets such as logistics centers and actively introduce advanced logistics solutions from the TES Logistics Technology Research Institute to the Vietnamese market.
According to CJ Logistics, Vietnam's logistics market was worth about $52 billion (approximately 69 trillion won) in 2025 and continues to grow rapidly at close to 15% annually. Market demand is expanding rapidly, led mainly by the consumer goods, retail, electronics, and chemicals industries.
