[Financial News] Busan-based shabu-shabu franchise Shabu Aejak said on the 20th that it sponsored meals worth 7 million won for 250 local seniors to mark October's Senior Citizens' Month.
After holding an event with Haeundae District on the 1st to sponsor meals for seniors, Shabu Aejak's Centum flagship store also invited seniors from local senior centers on the 20th and treated them to a shabu-shabu buffet. Haeundae District chief Kim Seong-su and JM Coffee Group Chairman Yang Jae-seok also attended, sharing a meal with the seniors and adding to the spirit of giving.
District chief Kim said, "I am grateful to CEO Lee Dong-won and Shabu Aejak for showing such generosity toward local seniors," adding, "I hope the meal prepared with care gives them an enjoyable time, and I wish them continued health and happiness in their daily lives."
CEO Lee Dong-won said, "It is meaningful to be able to serve seniors a warm meal to mark Senior Citizens' Month," adding, "I hope they enjoy the carefully prepared food and spend a pleasant, relaxing time with their neighbors."
He added, "Our goal is to expand Shabu Aejak stores across Busan's 16 districts and counties and continue sponsoring meals every year for local seniors and vulnerable groups. We will become a brand that grows with the community and gives back to our neighbors the love we have received."
Shabu Aejak continues its community outreach through its individual stores. On August 27, its Oncheonjang branch sponsored meals worth 4 million won for around 130 seniors. On the 2nd, Lee Sang-woo, CEO of its Gwangalli branch, provided meals worth 3 million won for around 100 local seniors. Its Songdo branch also plans to join the meal sponsorship effort.
