[Financial News] Lotte Department Store is joining forces with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to promote a culture of honoring veterans in everyday life.
According to industry sources on the 20th, Lotte Department Store will sign an MOU with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs that day at the Seoul Regional Veterans Affairs Office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to foster and promote a culture of honoring veterans in everyday life. The signing ceremony is expected to be attended by Lotte Department Store CEO Jeong Hyeon-seok, Lee Seong-hyeon, head of communications at Lotte Department Store, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Kwon Oh-eul, and Na Chi-man, head of the Veterans Culture Policy Office, among others.
Under the agreement, the two sides plan to work together to produce, discover and support content related to veterans culture and to raise public awareness of veterans affairs. Lotte Department Store plans to organize campaigns that involve customers and help people of various generations, including young people, engage with the value of honoring veterans in their everyday lives.
Lotte Department Store has continued a range of initiatives honoring the nation and veterans. These have included the “Love of Country Grand Bazaar,” which donates sales proceeds to people who have rendered distinguished service to the nation, as well as concerts supporting independence patriots, a design competition for a symbol of patriot Ahn Jung-geun, and support for the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Association.
Since the start of this year, the company has also expanded support for service members injured while serving in the military. Since March, it has provided rehearsal space to an orchestra made up of injured service members, helping them recover emotionally and connect with others through music.
Lotte Department Store CEO Jeong Hyeon-seok said, “Remembering the noble sacrifices and courage of those who have rendered distinguished service to the nation and sharing their values with future generations is a responsibility we all share.” He added, “With this agreement as an opportunity, Lotte Department Store will also actively support efforts to promote a culture of honoring veterans through various campaigns and help people reflect on the meaning of honoring veterans in their everyday lives.”
