On the 20th, Aumovio said it would take part in the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress, being held at Gangneung Olympic Park from the 19th to the 23rd. The exhibition is set up at the ERTICO (ITS Europe) booth. Aumovio said the exhibition focuses on exploring how automotive technologies and manufacturing expertise can contribute to the development and industrialization of humanoid robots.
The centerpiece of the demonstration is “Actuated Sound (Ac2ated Sound),” developed by Aumovio Engineering Solutions (AES). The technology uses a miniature exciter (a vibration-generating device) attached to the panel surface to make the panel vibrate and produce sound. Aumovio said this can save interior space and reduce the number of pathways through which dust and moisture can enter.
Aumovio said this is the first time it has applied the technology to a humanoid platform. The result builds on the strategic partnership in humanoid robotics it signed with Aniverse Dynamics last April.
The company is also introducing component technologies. Aumovio said high-performance computing (HPC) based on automotive control architecture can be used to process sensor data, run AI inference and coordinate robot movements. Seeing that humanoid robots often rely on off-the-shelf multi-board configurations for computing, the company is exploring the possibility of applying to robots an automotive architecture based on NVIDIA system-on-chip technology.
The cameras are third-generation satellite cameras already in mass production for automotive use. They use the GMSL2 video transmission interface and were designed with durability, low power consumption and ease of replacement in mind. For joint sensing, the company is exploring whether magnetic technology used in automotive steering and motor-position sensing can be used to measure the angles and speeds of robot joints.
On the 19th, Aumovio Korea CEO Kang Dong-yoon delivered a 30-minute special address at the ERTICO booth, discussing connectivity and the potential to use technologies proven in the automotive industry in humanoid robots.
“For humanoid robots to take hold in industrial settings, it is important to reliably mass-produce hardware of dependable quality,” Kang said. “The experience we have built up in large-scale production, quality control and ensuring process traceability will support sensing, computing and manufacturing quality.”
Aumovio experts will also take part in seminars during the congress. Robert Ji, telematics IP manager, will speak on 5G and ITS connectivity on the 20th, and on precision positioning and data quality on the 22nd. Algorithm engineer Mihail Gaianu will discuss data sharing for efficient mobility and logistics. Regulatory affairs manager Bettina Erdem will present on measures to protect vulnerable road users using V2X communications on the 22nd, and on V2X adoption and operation on the 23rd.
