[The Financial News] Kumho Tire will offer free inspections of heavy truck and bus tires over two days at four highway rest stops nationwide. The campaign aims to inform commercial vehicle drivers, who often travel long distances, about tire maintenance and help prevent heavy truck accidents and fires.
On the 20th, Kumho Tire announced that it will hold a free tire inspection and safe-driving campaign from the 22nd to the 23rd at the Songsan Podo rest stop (toward Siheung), Yeoju (toward Gangneung), Sintanjin (toward Seoul) and Chilgok (toward Seoul). Customers with heavy trucks or buses who visit these rest stops can have Kumho Tire employees check their tires’ exterior and wear free of charge. Air-pressure and wheel-balance checks will be available to customers who request them, and visitors will receive a small commemorative gift.
Choi Jun-seong, head of Kumho Tire’s Quality Service Team, said, “It is important for trucks and buses that travel long distances to have their tires’ condition checked and maintained regularly. Through activities like this, we will take the lead in informing drivers about proper tire maintenance and promoting road safety.”
Kumho Tire will also introduce the features of its truck and bus (TBR) tire models KXA31, KXA17, KXD10 and KXS10 through consultations tailored to individual customers. Visitors will receive information on types of tire-related accidents and safety precautions, and the company will also conduct outreach to help prevent heavy truck accidents and fires.
A Kumho Tire official said, “Every year, we hold free inspection campaigns for truck and bus tires as well as passenger car tires.” The official added, “We have continued activities to raise awareness of tire safety.”
