[Financial News] The Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association is organizing an event to share strategies for domestic biopharmaceutical companies to expand globally and explore opportunities for collaboration among companies.
The Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association said on the 20th that it will hold the 2026 Bio Partnership Exchange on the 27th at its offices in Bangbae-dong, Seoul. Launched in 2022, the event provides a forum for companies of all sizes to share challenges in biopharmaceutical development and explore collaboration. It will be held for the fifth time this year.
This year’s exchange will be held under the theme “Biopharmaceuticals on the Global Stage.” It will address strategies for domestic companies to expand overseas, focusing on cases involving global technology transfers, entry into overseas markets, commercialization of new drugs, and partnerships with global companies.
Representatives of Hanmi Pharmaceutical, SK Biopharmaceuticals, GC Biopharma and global pharmaceutical and biotech company Merck will take part in the presentations. Maeng Ji-woong, an executive director at Hanmi Pharmaceutical, will discuss the role of innovation-focused organizations and strategies for successful global technology transfers, while Shin Hae-in, a division head at SK Biopharmaceuticals, will share experience and strategies for entering global markets.
Bae Baek-sik, a department head at GC Biopharma, will present the case of Qurevo, which used a separate entity, NewCo, in the global sale of a new drug. Kang Min-seon, Merck’s business lead, will share ways to strengthen the competitiveness of Korea’s biotech ecosystem, focusing on global partnerships and the role of the Daejeon Bioprocessing Center.
Networking among attendees and a dinner will follow the presentations. The association plans to use the event to identify practical opportunities for collaboration among companies, including joint research and development and business cooperation.
A representative of the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association said, “To enhance the global competitiveness of the biopharmaceutical industry, it is important not only to build research and development capabilities but also to strengthen commercialization capabilities through collaboration among companies and global partnerships.” The representative added, “We hope this exchange will provide an opportunity to share experience and strategies for global expansion and find new opportunities for collaboration.”
The event is hosted by the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association and organized by its Biopharmaceuticals Committee.
