[Financial News] LG HelloVision is running a special segment that explains local issues discussed in National Assembly audits from residents’ perspective. It will cover changes in Busan’s coastal ecosystem, the concentration of medical tourism in the Seoul metropolitan area, and educational conditions at small high schools.
LG HelloVision announced on the 20th that its regional news program ‘Hello tv News’ will present a National Assembly audit series titled ‘National Assembly Audit: Asking the Regions.’ The series aims to highlight issues affecting local residents’ daily lives and policy alternatives, in line with discussions on the ‘Five Mega-Regions and Three Special Self-Governing Provinces Strategy’ for balanced regional development.
Recent coverage examined sightings of a shark known as ‘Bukangi’ near Busan’s North Port amid rising water temperatures, and addressed coastal safety measures and fishers’ right to make a living. It also covered the concentration of foreign medical tourism demand in the Seoul metropolitan area and disparities in course offerings and teacher availability at small high schools, among other key issues.
LG HelloVision plans to examine not only lawmakers’ questions but also responses from government ministries and agencies subject to audit, as well as follow-up measures. It intends to continue reporting on whether local issues raised during National Assembly audits lead to policy changes.
Sim Ji-hoon, head of LG HelloVision’s news division, said, “A National Assembly audit is an opportunity to address key regional issues as policy priorities for the central government. We will fulfill the role of local media so that policy alternatives tailored to each region can make a tangible difference in residents’ lives.”
