Konkuk University Professor Kim Jin-su Donates 30 Million Won to Support Future Scholars

[Financial News] Kim Jin-su, a professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Konkuk University's Graduate School of Public Administration, donated 30 million won to the university's development fund to support his alma mater's development and nurture future scholars. Professor Kim also donated 20 million won last year, bringing his cumulative donations to 51 million won with this latest contribution.
Konkuk University said it held a development fund donation ceremony in the president's office at the Administration Building on the afternoon of the 19th and expressed its gratitude to Professor Kim. The donation will be divided between the Konkuk Development Fund, which will receive 20 million won, and a designated development fund for the Graduate School of Public Administration, which will receive 10 million won. The university plans to use the donation to create an educational and research environment that supports the university's development and the cultivation of outstanding talent.
Professor Kim, who graduated from Konkuk University's Department of Law and earned a doctorate in urban and regional development from the same graduate school, has continued to donate in order to share with society and junior students what he learned at his alma mater.
Professor Kim said, "The knowledge and experience I gained at Konkuk University have enabled me to pursue various activities over the years," adding, "I have continued to donate in the hope that I can contribute, even in a small way, to my alma mater's development and to helping younger students focus on their studies in a better environment."
Konkuk University President Won Jong-pil said, "I am deeply grateful to Professor Kim Jin-su for making this generous contribution to the development of his alma mater again this year, following last year," adding, "We will put the development fund he has given us to good use in advancing Konkuk University and nurturing outstanding talent."
Meanwhile, Professor Kim currently serves as a professor at Konkuk University's Graduate School of Public Administration, where he is devoted to educating future scholars and conducting research. He also provides policy advice in various capacities, including as a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Urban Redevelopment Advisory Committee, vice president of the Korea Real Estate Society, policy adviser to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, member of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and member of the Housing Stability Subcommittee of the G3 Seoul Planning Committee.
