[Financial News] Ewha Womans University’s construction of ‘Ewha West Campus (EWC)’ and its efforts to build an advanced educational environment at the College of Pharmacy are expected to gain momentum. On the 19th, the university said Dean Hwang Eun-sook of the College of Pharmacy had donated 100 million won to the ‘College of Pharmacy Building Fund’ to support construction of a new pharmacy building and development of educational infrastructure.
After graduating from Ewha Womans University’s Department of Pharmacy and completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard, Dean Hwang is now a professor at her alma mater. Since 2010, she has continued to provide support through the Seonbaeram Scholarship, the College of Pharmacy Professors Scholarship, the Institute for Basic Science Scholarship Fund, the Ewha Happy Fund, and other funds. Dean Hwang said she decided to donate with her family’s support to help advance construction of the College of Pharmacy, which had been regrettably delayed.
Ewha Womans University President Lee Hyang-sook expressed her gratitude for Dean Hwang’s donation and said the university would actively support the College of Pharmacy in becoming a sustainable field that represents the university.
The fund presentation ceremony was held in the university’s main building on the 12th. Key university officials attended, including President Lee and Dean Hwang, as well as Huh Eun-kyung, president of the College of Pharmacy Alumni Association, and Park Jeong-soo, vice president for research and external affairs.
