Gyeryong Construction Triathlon Team sweeps all events at National Sports Festival for third consecutive year

[Financial News] Gyeryong Construction’s triathlon team won the overall title at the National Sports Festival for the third consecutive year. It won gold in all three events: the men’s general division individual and team events, and the mixed relay.
According to Gyeryong Construction on the 19th, the team competed as representatives of Daejeon Metropolitan City in the triathlon events at the 107th National Sports Festival, held from the 16th to the 18th around Gimnyeong Beach on Jeju Island, and swept the major events.
In the men’s general division individual event, team captain Choi Gyu-seo won gold. Competing on the 17th against 48 athletes from 17 cities and provinces across the country, Choi crossed the finish line first in 1 hour, 55 minutes and 59 seconds.
The team also won the team event. Combining the results of Park Sang-min and Kwon Min-ho, who competed alongside Choi Gyu-seo, the Daejeon team took first place in the men’s general division team event.
In the mixed relay on the 18th, Choi Gyu-seo and Lee Sang-min teamed up with Jeong Hye-rim and Park Ga-yeon of Daejeon City Hall to win gold. That same day, Jeon Tae-il, who is sponsored by Gyeryong Construction, also won the men’s under-18 individual event.
That same day, Gyeryong Construction-sponsored athlete Jeon Tae-il also crossed the finish line first in the men’s under-18 individual event, taking first place and showcasing his outstanding skills and potential for growth.
With this result, Gyeryong Construction’s triathlon team extended its record of overall victories in the National Sports Festival triathlon events to three consecutive years, beginning in 2024. In particular, it also topped the men’s general division individual and team events and the mixed relay at the 106th National Sports Festival last year.
A Gyeryong Construction representative said, “We applaud the team for achieving excellent results and pushing beyond their limits despite the challenges of competing in a less popular sport,” adding, “We will continue to provide our full attention and support so that the athletes can deliver their best performances.”
Gyeryong Construction founded its triathlon team in 2024 to support a less popular sport and develop athletes. Starting with one coach, one trainer and four athletes, the team has improved its performance with support for domestic and overseas training camps, rehabilitation and conditioning programs, and more.
Separately from operating its existing team, the company is also working to identify and develop promising athletes. It plans to support the training conditions of elite athletes while also broadening participation in triathlon and promoting recreational sports.
