[Financial News] Taekwang Industrial sponsored the charity concert ‘2026 Life and Sharing Concert’ to support the education of children in group homes and college students who grew up in group homes. Through its support program for children in group homes, which it has run since 2013, Taekwang Industrial has donated a cumulative total of 830 million won.
Taekwang Industrial said on the 19th that it had sponsored ‘2026 Life and Sharing Concert,’ held on the 17th at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The concert featured the Haengboknamu Boys and Girls Choir, made up of children living in child-protection facilities such as group homes in Seoul and Gyeonggi, and the Haengboknamu Philharmonic Orchestra & Choir, conducted by Jo Ik-hyeon. Soprano Kim Young-mi, baritone Yeom Gyeong-muk, and violinist Song Ji-won also took the stage as guest performers.
Founded in 2009, the Haengboknamu Boys and Girls Choir is run by Haengboknamu Plus, a nonprofit incorporated association. Haengboknamu Plus provides annual scholarships to children living in child-protection facilities and college students who grew up in such facilities, using funds raised through charity performances.
Since 2016, Taekwang Industrial has provided a total of 150 million won to support the activities of the Haengboknamu Choir. The sponsorship funds are used to support the living and education expenses of children in group homes and provide scholarships to college students who grew up in group homes.
Separately, the company also runs the ‘Stepping-Stone Seed Savings Account’ program to help children in group homes become self-reliant and save for tuition after leaving their facilities. The company and its employees donate a set amount to savings accounts opened in the children’s names. Cumulative donations to the program have totaled 680 million won since 2013.
