Osstem Implant announced on the 19th that it had held an environmental improvement volunteer activity on the 15th at Seoul SOS Children's Village in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. About 60 employees, led by the Design Research Institute, voluntarily took part and repaired various parts of the facility.
The volunteers cleared overgrown brush and refurbished aging walls. In particular, they improved the living spaces by painting murals on walls spanning three locations and measuring 150 meters in total, based on designs planned by Design Research Institute employees themselves.
They also delivered gifts to support the children's studies and growth. They provided art supply sets to lower-grade elementary school students and stationery sets to upper-grade students, and gave Bluetooth headsets for studying to middle and high school students and job seekers.
Seoul SOS Children's Village is a facility that provides a home-like caregiving environment for children who have difficulty receiving parental care. Currently, 47 children, from infants to university students, and five caregivers live in nine family homes.
An Osstem Implant representative said, "Our employees joined together to help ensure the children could live in a more comfortable environment," adding, "We will continue our social contribution activities by listening to the needs of local communities and bringing about tangible change."
Meanwhile, Osstem Implant continues to carry out employee-participatory social contribution activities, including a mural-painting volunteer project at the Sangsa Village senior center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, last September.
