[Financial News] Logistics specialist Ourbox has surpassed 100 billion won in annual cumulative sales for the first time since its founding. The company plans to expand its business from food and beauty into fashion, while using its proprietary logistics platform and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve operational efficiency.
Ourbox said on the 19th that its cumulative sales for this year had exceeded 100 billion won as of the 17th. After surpassing last year’s annual sales of 87.7 billion won in August, the company set this year’s sales target at 130 billion won, about 48% higher than last year.
Ourbox’s average annual sales growth over the eight years from 2018—the year after its founding—through this year reached 74.2%. The latest milestone of surpassing 100 billion won in sales is seen as a symbolic achievement, demonstrating how Ourbox has grown from a startup into a tech fulfillment company with the capacity to manage large-scale logistics operations.
Ourbox is a fulfillment company that handles everything from product storage and order processing to packaging, shipping and returns on behalf of online sellers. It has expanded its business base by providing logistics services tailored to the characteristics of products such as food, health supplements, household goods and cosmetics.
Freshness and temperature control are important for food, while cosmetics require management of diverse inventories, expiration dates and production batches. Fashion products are differentiated by color and size, and demand for returns and exchanges is also high. The company responds to these needs by combining industry-specific operating procedures with a shared logistics system.
Ourbox made a full-scale entry into the fashion logistics market this year, establishing an operating system at the dedicated ABLY fulfillment center that began operations in June to handle product intake and storage, picking products according to orders, shipping and returns. The company aims to diversify its customer base by expanding its business, previously focused on food, household goods and beauty, into fashion as well.
A key technology-driven growth engine supporting the business expansion is the company’s proprietary integrated logistics platform, “#MATE.” It combines an order management system and a warehouse management system and connects with domestic and international e-commerce channels and client systems. The platform manages everything from order receipt and inventory to shipping and delivery information within a single system.
This enables clients to get an integrated view of orders and inventory across multiple sales channels.
The company is also working to improve its operating systems using AI. A dedicated team is integrating AI into areas including order volume forecasting, logistics resource optimization, workforce allocation and inventory management. The goal is to reduce inefficiencies in logistics operations, improving cost competitiveness and service quality.
The company is also advancing the technology behind its logistics-focused large language model (LLM), “Ourbox-31B-JGOS,” which it is developing in-house, so it can be used in actual operations. It is also setting up an environment in which employees can use the internal “AI Gateway” to look up order, shipping and inventory information by asking questions in everyday language.
The company is exploring business opportunities overseas, particularly in Japan and the United States. It plans to expand logistics and sales support services as domestic brands, including K-beauty brands, enter overseas online markets.
Ourbox CEO Park Cheol-su said, “Future competitiveness will depend not simply on the scale of logistics processing, but on how effectively we transform on-the-ground expertise using data and AI technology and connect it to tangible operational results and customer value.” He added, “We will continue to grow into a tech-focused commerce solutions company that can compete in global markets.”
