[Financial News] A unique event where 1,000 people can sit at a 400-meter-long table and enjoy chicken will be held on Seoul’s Jamsu Bridge. The festival is especially significant as the last event to take place before the bridge is converted into a pedestrian-only bridge. On the 19th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will hold “Jamsu Bridge Chicken Day,” the final event of the “2026 Car-Free Jamsu Bridge Walking Festival,” around Jamsu Bridge from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the 25th.
A 400-meter-long yellow chicken table that can seat 1,000 people will be set up on the roadway of Jamsu Bridge. The event will run in two sessions, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., each lasting 90 minutes, with 1,000 people per session and 2,000 in total. Seats will be assigned through online advance reservations.
During the reservation process, participants can choose their preferred chicken brand and menu. On the day of the event, they will pick up and pay for their order on site before entering the table area. Attendees will receive, by session, wristbands in colors representing fried chicken and seasoned chicken.
Major franchises including bb.q Chicken, Puradak Chicken, Mom’s Touch, Mexicana Chicken and Jadam Chicken will take part, along with popular local chicken restaurants such as Manseok Dak-gangjeong in Sokcho and Oneul Tongdak and Banpo Chicken in Seoul.
A unique tasting event will also let visitors compare chicken from Seoul’s 25 autonomous districts in one place. One hundred Korean and foreign participants recruited in advance will take part in “Jamsu Bridge Chicken Sommelier,” which runs for 90 minutes starting at 2 p.m. Participants will have the chance to sample up to 25 pieces of chicken selected to represent the districts and explore the distinctive characteristics of each area.
An exhibition introducing chicken destinations across the country will also be held. The “K-Chicken Belt Map,” prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korean Food Promotion Institute, features popular chicken restaurants and related attractions in 30 cities and counties nationwide. On the day of the event, the Banpodaegyo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain will operate with yellow lighting, adding to the festive atmosphere. Existing programs from the walking festival, including Moonlight Shop, Moonlight Restaurant and Seoro Market, will also run.
Park Jin-young, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Future Han River Headquarters, said, “For the final program of this Sunday’s ‘Car-Free Jamsu Bridge Walking Festival,’ we’ve prepared a special event centered on chicken, which everyone loves.” He added, “I hope citizens and tourists, as well as brands from various industries and small business owners, will gather in one place and enjoy the final festival on Jamsu Bridge as it prepares to be reborn as a pedestrian-only bridge.”
Meanwhile, vehicle traffic on Jamsu Bridge will be completely halted after this event. The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to restrict vehicles from entering the bridge starting on the 26th for construction to convert it into a pedestrian-only bridge.
