[The Financial News] Low-cost carrier Air Busan (CEO Jeong Byeong-seop) said on the 19th that it had operated an “Aviation Safety Experience Booth” for Busan residents for two days starting on the 17th in the concourse of Centum City Station on Busan Metro Line 2 in Haeundae.
The experience booth recreated the interior of an actual aircraft, allowing citizens to learn and experience aviation safety procedures firsthand.
Air Busan cabin crew safety training instructors provided detailed instruction on how to fasten seat belts and put on life vests and oxygen masks, as well as the proper response to in-flight emergencies. Around 320 citizens took part in the event, held at Centum City Station, which sees heavy foot traffic on weekends.
Air Busan offered a range of activities beyond the training, including giving every participant a keycap keychain and setting up a commemorative photo booth.
The training was held as part of an aviation safety promotion project carried out in partnership with Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency.
Since August, Air Busan has invited citizens to its specialized training facilities at its headquarters once a month to take part in hands-on aviation safety training. It has held two sessions so far, with high levels of interest and participation each time registration opened in advance.
An Air Busan representative said, “A proper understanding of aircraft emergencies and the ability to respond to them are important for everyone, so we developed this program to give more citizens the chance to learn about and experience aviation safety firsthand.”
