[Financial News] Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has added health management and post-treatment recovery support to its health insurance. It has expanded coverage beyond cancer and circulatory diseases to include liver, lung and kidney diseases, and introduced family discounts and vouchers for everyday services to meet customers’ individual coverage needs.
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced on the 19th that it has launched THE FIT, a new health insurance product that lets customers choose coverage and services according to their health and stage of life.
An expanded version of My Fit Health Insurance, launched in 2024, the product comprises four modules—health, long-term care, driver and home—so customers can prepare for risks related not only to treatment for specific illnesses but also to caregiving, driving and housing.
Coverage has been expanded beyond cancer and circulatory diseases to include liver, lung and kidney diseases. Coverage has also been strengthened across the course of treatment, from initial tests and drug treatment to hospitalization, surgery and recovery.
The product also offers enrollment benefits. Customers can choose an enrollment type suited to their health, and when family members enroll together, each member receives a 5% discount on their premium.
For health management, customers can choose one of three services: Gravity, which supports gym use; Sugar Fit, a blood sugar management service; or Light Fit, a weight management service. After a serious illness occurs, customers can also use vouchers for 10 types of everyday services, including hospital accompaniment and home care, as well as hospital escort, lodging support for treatment and housekeeping help.
A Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance representative said, “THE FIT is a product that grew out of our efforts to tailor insurance to customers’ health and lives,” adding, “We will continue to provide greater value through insurance that meets customers’ changing circumstances and diverse needs.”
