[Financial News] SGC Cultural Foundation supported cultural exchange between the two countries by serving as the main sponsor of a run commemorating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France.
According to SGC Cultural Foundation on the 19th, the foundation officially sponsored the France-Korea 140th Anniversary Run, hosted by the Embassy of France in Korea and held at UNICEF Square in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 15th.
Around 650 middle and high school students and adult participants from Korea and France took part in the event hosted by the Embassy of France in Korea. Participants ran 2.5-kilometer, 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer courses starting at UNICEF Square and circling Haneul Park. Mapo District assisted with the event, while the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (SMOE) and educational institutions in both countries encouraged students to participate.
The foundation set up a separate booth at the venue and held a spin-the-wheel event and an Instagram follow event. It gave participants sports drawstring bags, drinks, energy bars and Olive Young gift certificates, and also offered VIP tickets to its autumn concert, scheduled for this November at the Seocho Culture and Arts Center in Seoul, as prizes.
Programs offering a chance to experience the traditional cultures of both countries were also set up at the venue. Activities included pétanque, a traditional French boules game, and Korean traditional archery, along with food and drink booths and photo zones.
A representative of SGC Cultural Foundation said, “It was meaningful to be able to interact with participants of different generations and nationalities at an event commemorating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France,” adding, “We plan to continue expanding our support for cultural and artistic activities that many citizens can take part in and work to foster an open cultural ecosystem.”
SGC Cultural Foundation is participating this year as an official sponsor of events commemorating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France. It supports cultural cooperation between the two countries through its main programs, which include classical music performances, support for artists, cultural outreach and education. The France-Korea 140th Anniversary Official Sponsorship Committee, comprising a total of 13 companies, plans to support a range of cultural and artistic events through the end of this year.
