[Financial News] CJ Olive Young Corporation has opened a regionally tailored store, Olive Young Gyeongju Silla branch, in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province.
According to CJ Olive Young Corporation on the 19th, the store, located across from Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal, spans two floors and 135 pyeong (446 sq. m.), making it the largest in Gyeongju. The exterior is styled after a hanok, while the interior is decorated with designs inspired by Silla relics to evoke Gyeongju.
The Gyeongju Silla branch was designed as a place where visitors can relax and unwind, catering to the needs of travelers to Gyeongju. Benches and terraces on and around the store's first and second floors provide spaces to rest. On the first floor, there is a “Tea Aroma Experience Zone,” where visitors can smell and buy tea, and a “Worry Guestbook,” where they can write down their concerns. The store also operates a “Gua Sha Island,” where customers can try gua sha products.
It has also introduced three types of “Skin Scan” self-service beauty devices that can assess facial skin and scalp conditions, personal color, and more.
Works reinterpreting Silla clay figurines are displayed throughout the store. The first-floor merchandise area sells exclusive products, including key rings and magnets featuring Gyeongju cultural heritage sites such as Seokguram Grotto and Cheomseongdae.
This year, Olive Young has been expanding stores that reflect regional characteristics, focusing on areas outside the capital region. In Gyeongju, after opening the hanok-concept Gyeongju Hwangnam branch on Gyeongju Hwangnidan Street in 2024, it has added tourism offerings with the Gyeongju Silla branch.
An Olive Young representative said, “The Gyeongju Silla branch was designed to let domestic and international travelers experience K-beauty with all five senses while enjoying a relaxing break,” adding, “We will continue to expand stores that reflect local characteristics and grow together with local communities.”
