[Financial News] Coupang is launching follow-up support to help local small businesses expand their online sales channels.
According to industry sources on the 19th, Coupang will run its “Digital Jump-Up Mutual-Growth Promotion” from the 19th through the 31st. The event will involve 76 local small businesses that completed the Digital Jump-Up Academy training and received tailored consulting.
Coupang’s Digital Jump-Up Academy is a program designed to enhance local small businesses’ digital capabilities and help them enter the online market. Over eight weeks, participating businesses received practical training, both online and offline, on using artificial intelligence (AI), product planning and listing, online sales and digital marketing strategies, and improving product content. They then strengthened their online sales capabilities through product assessments and tailored consulting by Coupang brand managers (BMs).
Coupang is supporting participating businesses through this promotion so that the results of their training and consulting can translate into actual sales. It plans to increase exposure for their products through the promotion and marketing support, and give them opportunities to showcase their products to consumers nationwide.
Participating businesses are also expanding their online sales base. Square Food Lab, a food company in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, sells grain blend powders, granola and other products. Through one-on-one consulting, it reviewed the selling points of its flagship products and improved the design and presentation of information on its product detail pages. Building on this, it is strengthening its online sales base and expanding its sales channels nationwide.
Busan-based Jeongseong Gitdeun sells natural seasonings, flavored soy sauce and seasoned broth, among other products. It is expanding its distribution channels online from its previously offline-centered sales model and identifying flagship products by analyzing customer responses.
A representative of Coupang’s Social Contribution Office said, “The Digital Jump-Up Academy is meaningful because it goes beyond training: it supports local small businesses as they gain hands-on experience selling online and helps that experience lead to expanded sales channels and revenue growth. We will continue to support competitive local small businesses so they can grow in the online market.”
