[Financial News]  Three male customers at a Korean barbecue restaurant in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, were reported to have played pranks, including pressing an exhaust hood against the grill and dunking it in bean sprout soup. Cheongyang chili peppers and bean sprouts were even found inside the hood, and the owner said the customers left without apologizing.
According to JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor,” the incident took place on the night of the 9th at a restaurant in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province. The customers’ actions were captured on the restaurant’s closed-circuit television (CCTV).
The three men who visited the restaurant ate about 40,000 won’s worth of food, then began playing around with the exhaust hood installed at their table.
The released CCTV footage shows the men pressing the exhaust hood against the grill and scorching it. They then plunged the hood deep into bean sprout soup, and footage also showed them laughing together as they did so.
The owner checked the hood after the customers left and said food had been found inside it. He said, “After the men left, I checked the exhaust hood and broth was dripping from it, and there were even Cheongyang chili peppers and bean sprouts inside.”
The Cheongyang chili peppers, bean sprouts and other items were reportedly sucked into the hood as the men held it against the food.
Yang Won-bo, host of “Scandal Supervisor,” criticized the customers’ behavior after watching the video. He reacted with disbelief, asking, “Do you think that’s funny?”
The owner claimed that he had directly confronted the customers at the time but received no apology. He said the men had not been drunk when they did it, either.
He said, “I asked the men at the time, ‘What are you doing?’ but they calmly left without offering any real apology. They weren’t drunk at the time, either.”
