[Financial News] Park Sang-hyun, president and CEO of Doosan Enerbility and its chief financial officer (CFO), and Kim Min-cheol, president and CEO of Doosan Corporation and its CFO, have each been promoted to vice chairman.
On the 16th, Doosan Enerbility and Doosan Corporation announced the promotions of Park Sang-hyun and Kim Min-cheol to vice chairmen.
First, alongside Park Sang-hyun’s promotion to vice chairman, Doosan Enerbility appointed Song Yong-jin, president and head of its Strategy and Innovation Division, as its new chief operating officer (COO).
Park Sang-hyun has served as president and CEO of Doosan Enerbility since 2022. Before that, he held positions including managing director on the Corporate Finance Project (CFP) team in Doosan Corporation’s holding-company division in 2008, head of financial management at Doosan Infracore (predecessor to HD Construction Equipment Co., Ltd.) in 2013, vice president of Doosan Corporation’s holding-company division in 2015, and CEO of Doosan Bobcat in 2018.
An engineer by background, COO Song Yong-jin joined Doosan Enerbility in 2008 as head of its Strategy Team and has also served as head of the Power and Innovation Division and head of the Wind Power Business Group (BG).
The plan is to boost the competitiveness of key businesses, including nuclear power, gas turbines and offshore wind, under Park Sang-hyun’s leadership and with COO Song Yong-jin at the helm, while accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation.
Doosan Corporation’s new vice chairman, Kim Min-cheol, joined the company in 2006 as a managing director on its Financial Analysis (FA) team. He went on to become senior managing director of Management Strategy in 2011, vice president and CEO in 2018, and president and CEO in 2020.
Vice Chairman Kim is a quintessential “Doosan man,” having joined the company in 1989 and served there for many years. He is viewed as the right person to improve management efficiency because he has a thorough grasp of Doosan Group.
