[Financial News] Bando Construction is stepping up efforts to invigorate the commercial district by bringing a major everyday retail brand to the commercial facilities within a landmark mixed-use complex in Goyang's Janghang District.
Bando Construction said on the 16th that it had signed a tenant agreement with Emart Everyday for 'Sigan,' the premium branded mall within its Goyang Janghang Kaive Ubora mixed-use complex in Janghang District.
'Goyang Janghang Kaive Ubora' is a large-scale development being built in Janghang-dong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. It will have four basement levels and up to 49 above-ground floors across six buildings, with 1,694 units ranging from 84 to 170 square meters of exclusive area. Despite the large number of units, all were sold during the initial sales period, demonstrating strong interest.
The newly confirmed Emart Everyday store will have an exclusive floor area of 852.4 square meters. As a major everyday retail facility offering essential groceries and household goods, it is expected to quickly attract not only the substantial, steady customer base of the 1,694-unit complex but also demand from approximately 11,000 households in Janghang District, significantly boosting the overall commercial facilities' ability to draw customers.
The complex is particularly well located, with Ilsan Lake Park nearby. This gives it the potential to attract a broad range of customers, including local residents enjoying their leisure time as well as day-trippers and other visitors to the park. With a total floor area of approximately 41,314 square meters, the large-scale commercial facility 'Sigan' will span basement level 1 to the second floor above ground. The arrival of this major anchor tenant is expected to prompt more inquiries from additional brands about opening stores there.
A Bando Construction representative said, "We will do our utmost to invigorate the commercial facilities so that they can establish themselves as a premium branded mall representing the region."
Meanwhile, building on its success in Goyang Janghang, Bando Construction plans to launch sales this coming October for 'Gyeyang New Town Kaive Ubora & Sigan' (1,110 units in total) in Incheon’s Gyeyang New Town, which is the fastest-moving project among the third-generation new towns. It will be the first privately sold residential complex in Gyeyang New Town, and the lifestyle-stay mall 'Sigan' is also planned for development alongside it, drawing strong interest from prospective buyers.
