[Financial News] 7-Eleven is expanding its field campaign, which brings franchise owners and employees together to improve the shopping environment at franchise stores. The campaign will overhaul store operations across the board, from cleanliness and product rearrangement to dedicated displays for differentiated products.
According to industry sources on the 16th, 7-Eleven is running its “Store Cleanliness MAKE-UP (Makeup) Campaign” in the fourth quarter. This month, it carried out improvement work at around 400 stores in major commercial districts nationwide, and plans to add around 600 more by year-end, bringing the campaign to a total of about 1,000 stores.
The campaign focuses on reviewing and improving the four basic principles of convenience store operations: kindness, cleanliness, freshness management, display, and assortment. Along with managing cleanliness inside and outside stores, the company is rearranging products based on the standard planogram (POG), expanding its best-selling products, and setting up dedicated displays for differentiated products.
In June, 7-Eleven also ran the same campaign at around 1,400 stores nationwide. According to the company, sales at those stores rose by an average of 8% compared with before the campaign.
“The starting point for strengthening convenience stores’ competitiveness lies in the basics: maintaining a clean store environment and effectively showcasing the products customers want,” said Jeon Il-hyeon, head of operations strategy at 7-Eleven. “We will continue improving store environments and product operations through field-focused activities involving franchise owners and employees, while providing customers with an even more pleasant shopping experience and strengthening franchise stores’ sales competitiveness.”
