[Financial News] As visits by foreign tourists to South Korea increase, Shinsegae Simon is expanding content tailored to foreign visitors and convenience infrastructure at Yeoju Premium Outlets, including K-food pop-ups and information services dedicated to foreign tourists.
According to industry sources on the 16th, Shinsegae Simon will operate an HBAF pop-up store from today through the 22nd in the bridge area connecting the EAST and WEST sections of Yeoju Premium Outlets. It will showcase 15 varieties, including almonds and popcorn, focusing on almond products popular among foreign tourists as souvenirs.
The company will also hold giveaways using coupons exclusive to foreign customers and events for customers who spend at least a certain amount. The HBAF pop-up store will also run at Siheung Premium Outlets from the 23rd through the 2nd of next month.
Shinsegae Simon has also improved transportation convenience for foreign tourists. Yeoju Premium Outlets’ “One-Day Tour” began operating twice a week in April last year, and the number of runs has increased as ridership grew. Starting this month, it has expanded to daily service, seven days a week.
On the 23rd, a “Tourist Information” center dedicated to foreign tourists will open at the information center in the EAST section. It will provide foreign-language maps, tax-refund services and shopping information, and a self-service currency-exchange kiosk is also scheduled to be added later this month.
A Shinsegae Simon representative said, “As visits by foreign tourists continue to increase, we have enhanced both convenience services and content,” adding, “We plan to continue expanding our services so that foreign customers can enjoy shopping more conveniently.”
