[Financial News] The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority said it held the “Digital Transformation (DX) Growth Briefing” at Shilla Stay Seobusan on the 16th to strengthen the digital capabilities of resident companies and secure future competitiveness.
The briefing was organized to help companies respond to a rapidly changing industrial environment amid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies. It focused on enhancing resident companies’ AI transformation (AX) capabilities and providing insights into real-world applications and future changes in industry.
Around 60 people, including executives and staff from companies in the free economic zone, attended the event. Participants reviewed real-world cases of AX adoption by manufacturing companies and the processes involved, and explored specific approaches and tasks suited to the circumstances of companies considering or pursuing AX adoption.
The event was divided into two sessions. Kim Jin-yang, vice president of Gomotec, a company based in the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, presented “Cases of Building Data Infrastructure and Foundations for the Transition to Autonomous Manufacturing.” Park Won, a professional at Samsung Heavy Industries and former head of its ADX General Group, spoke on “The Future AX Roadmap Envisioned by Large Corporations.”
The Authority plans to ensure the briefing does not remain a one-off event, so resident companies can lead technological competition by leveraging AI and digital technologies. It will continue identifying AX needs in the field and build a phased support system tailored to companies’ capabilities and needs.
Park Seong-ho, head of the Authority, said, “The rapid development of AI and digital technologies is fundamentally changing production methods in the manufacturing and logistics industries, as well as companies’ future competitiveness. I hope this briefing will serve as a practical opportunity for resident companies to respond proactively to changes in the industrial landscape and apply technological innovation in the field.”
