[Financial News] The Jeonggwan Senior Welfare Center, affiliated with the Busan Gijang County Urban Management Corporation, announced on the 16th that its learner Do Yeong-hui, an older adult, received an encouragement award at the “2026 Busan City Adult Literacy Education Poetry and Painting Exhibition,” held on the 13th in the main auditorium on the first floor of Busan City Hall.
Hosted and organized by the Busan Institute for Women, Family and Lifelong Education Promotion, the exhibition was held under the theme “Literacy: Capturing the Time Spent Learning.” It was designed to give adult literacy learners a chance to express in their work the emotions and life stories they encountered in the learning process and to share their learning achievements with the local community.
The welfare center submitted three poetry-and-painting works and two postcards to the contest. Among them, older adult learner Do Yeong-hui received an encouragement award in the poetry-and-painting category.
The award-winning works from the exhibition will be on display through the 21st in the underground passage connecting to City Hall Station on Busan Metro Line 1. They can also be viewed through the “Online Exhibition Hall” on the website of the Busan Institute for Women, Family and Lifelong Education Promotion.
“This award is a meaningful result of the older adult’s passion for learning and steady effort,” said Moon Hui-jeong, director of the welfare center. “We will continue to actively support older adults so they can build a sense of achievement and confidence through literacy education and lead active lives in their later years.”
