“Not sponsored—I bought it myself” ... Han Ga-in unveils jewelry after advertising controversy

Having recently faced controversy over advertising for a product, she also detailed how she had purchased the items in this video.
On the 15th, a video titled “From Luxury Goods and Wedding Jewelry to Korean Designer Brands: Han Ga-in Unveils for the First Time the Jewelry She’s Collected Over 23 Years” was posted on Han Ga-in’s YouTube channel. In the video, she personally introduced the jewelry she had collected over many years.
Han Ga-in made clear even before showing the items that the video contained no advertising or sponsored content. She explained that even when she learned about brands through broadcast sponsorships and the like, she generally bought their products after visiting stores herself or ordering online.
She said, “I paid for these myself, and there’s no product placement in this. These are all things I’ve bought over the years. Sometimes, when something is sponsored, I discover it by asking, ‘This is so pretty. What brand is it?’ In those cases, if I buy it through a stylist or someone, they might give me a discount of around 10% or 20%. But I often just go to the store and buy it or order it online without that.”
She went on to reiterate that she had bought the items without sponsorship, saying that even representatives of the brands that sell them probably didn’t know she wore their products.
She said that for this video, she wanted to focus on showing products from Korean designer brands at reasonable price points rather than expensive luxury goods. Some people think that all the jewelry she wears is expensive luxury jewelry.
Han Ga-in said, “A lot of people think that almost everything I wear is a luxury item, and sometimes they ask me about it because they think it must be really expensive. These days, even outside luxury brands, there are lots of good pieces from Korean designer brands at reasonable prices—not too expensive—and I’d like to focus on introducing those.”
She said that she usually chooses 14K gold when buying gold jewelry. Han Ga-in explained that it costs less than 18K and that she prefers its color, saying, “I buy it because it’s cheaper. 18K has more of a yellowish tone. I think 14K looks younger than 18K.”
Han Ga-in had previously been caught up in an advertising controversy involving an albumin product. The controversy erupted after YouTuber Samangyeou TV named her while discussing the product’s advertising methods and efficacy.

Han Ga-in explained that she had bought the product herself rather than receiving it as a sponsorship or advertising it. However, the controversy continued after Samangyeou TV made a separate Shorts video about her. After Han Ga-in later shared her payment records, Samangyeou TV made the video private and apologized.
