KF to Promote Cultural Exchange with Southeast Asian Youth, Hold B-boying Shows with Fusion MC in Vietnam and Indonesia

【HANOI, Vietnam—Correspondent Kim Jun-seok】KF will hold a K-street dance tour featuring South Korean b-boy group Fusion MC in three cities in Vietnam and Indonesia from the 19th to the 24th to promote cultural exchange with Southeast Asia’s younger generation.
According to KF on the 15th, the foundation aims to strengthen exchanges with key countries of the Global South and deepen engagement with local young people who are highly interested in Korean culture through the tour, “Dance Beyond Korea.” The shows will go beyond breaking, featuring a diverse mix of K-pop dance, street dance and beatboxing to convey the energy of contemporary Korean performing arts. A participatory program will also give local audience members the chance to get on stage and dance with the performers.
The tour will begin with performances on the 19th and 20th at the Korea 360 venue in Lotte Mall in Jakarta, Indonesia. It will then move to Thang Long University in Hanoi, Vietnam, on the 22nd, and Thu Duc College of Technology in Ho Chi Minh City on the 24th. In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City and local universities, KF will stage shows for university students, young people and general audiences.
Planned as a seven-part show, the performances will begin with “Meeting the Crew,” a solo performance showcasing the members’ individual styles, followed in turn by “Human Beatbox” by beatboxer Big Road (Hwang Young-cheol), “Beats and Breaks,” which combines beatboxing and b-boying, and “Vibrant K-pop,” street dance set to K-pop music. The show will also feature a range of segments for audiences, including “Dance Together,” an audience-participation segment; “Thunder,” a team dance number; and a gift raffle, “Catch Your Luck! Grab a Gift!”
KF Chairman Song Gi-dong said, “This b-boying tour of Indonesia and Vietnam will be a meaningful opportunity to connect with local young people in Southeast Asia, a key region of the Global South, through Korea’s dynamic culture and arts.” He added, “KF will continue cultural exchanges with future generations around the world and foster greater understanding of and empathy for Korea.”
