[Financial News] AI experts from global Big Tech companies such as Meta Platforms, Apple and NVIDIA, along with leading Korean scholars, will gather to discuss the latest technologies and industry outlook.
Korea University's ICT Premium Talent Development Project Group and Superintelligence Research Center announced on the 15th that they will hold AI Tech Day 2026 on the 20th at Hana Square on the university's campus in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
Now being held for the fourth time, the event will focus on physical AI—technology that combines AI with physical objects such as robots—and AI agents, software that autonomously makes decisions and performs tasks. It will spotlight the direction of technological development and examples of real-world applications.
AI researchers from global companies including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Meta Platforms, Apple and NVIDIA, along with faculty members from Seoul National University and KAIST, will attend as speakers and present their latest research. Representatives of key Korean robotics and autonomous-driving companies, including LG Electronics, 42dot and ROBOTIS, will also take part and share examples of AI applications in industry.
Programs for industry-academia collaboration and talent recruitment will also be arranged for attendees. Promotional and recruiting booths for major companies including AWS, Krafton, FuriosaAI, Kakao Mobility and LG CNS will be set up at the event, as they seek to recruit talent in the AI field.
The final project demonstrations and awards ceremony for the AI Innovators Challenge, jointly conducted by Korea University and AWS using generative AI and cloud technologies, will also be held.
The ICT Premium Talent Development Project, which is hosting the event, is a major national project supported by an annual budget of 3 billion won from the Ministry of Science and ICT for 10 years. Korea University established the Superintelligence Research Center under the project and has continued its work in technology research and talent development.
Han Jeong-hyeon, head of Korea University's ICT Premium Talent Development Project Group and director of the Superintelligence Research Center, said, “As the project’s second phase comes to a close, this event is a meaningful opportunity to showcase the research and development achievements we have accumulated.” He added, “We hope you will take an interest in and participate in this event, where you can take stock of the current state of AI and explore the future together.”
