According to the exhibition organizers on the 15th, the Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition: ‘Hidden Inventory / Premature Death’ and ‘Shibuya Incident’ will run at DUEX Hongdae in Seoul from December 4 through February 28 next year. After welcoming visitors in major parts of Japan—including Tokyo, Aichi, Fukuoka, Osaka, Hokkaido, Ishikawa and Miyagi—the exhibition is expanding to Korea.
The exhibition focuses on two of the series’ major story arcs, ‘Hidden Inventory / Premature Death’ and ‘Shibuya Incident.’ Under the theme ‘Reexperience the feelings and battles that intersected in each era,’ it will recreate key scenes from both arcs in immersive spaces and display original drawings, storyboards and setting materials used in the anime’s production.
The ‘Hidden Inventory / Premature Death’ area will spotlight the youth of Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Shoko Ieiri and others during their student days at Jujutsu High, as well as the events that changed their fates. It will also feature a photo zone recreating a Jujutsu High classroom and life-size panels based on newly created illustrations.
The ‘Shibuya Incident’ area will depict the fierce battles waged in Shibuya by sorcerers, cursed spirits and curse users, including Yuji Itadori and his companions. The area is set to convey the atmosphere of the arc through life-size panels featuring new illustrations and a photo zone where visitors can experience the distinctive tension of the series.
Materials offering a look at the anime production process will also be on display. Through original drawings, storyboards and character-setting materials that are difficult to see in the finished footage, visitors can follow how characters’ expressions and movements, as well as key scenes, took shape as animation. The exhibition is expected to offer plenty to see not only for fans of the series but also for visitors interested in anime production.
A life-size figure of protagonist Yuji Itadori will be installed at the exhibition entrance. The ‘Jujutsu Kaisen Anime 5th Anniversary Zone,’ looking back on the anime’s five years, will showcase key visuals and illustrations from across the years, as well as the handwritten signature of Junya Enoki, the voice actor for Yuji Itadori.
Merchandise and food items tied to the exhibition will also be available. A collaboration café is also planned, selling desserts and drinks featuring major characters and imagery from the series, along with original merchandise available only in Korea.
The exhibition will run daily, with no days off. Tickets can be reserved for individual sessions through YES24 Ticket starting October 21.
