[Financial News] Jipyong said on the 15th that it had hosted a dinner for invited clients at the Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on the 14th to mark 20 years since entering Vietnam. The event was organized to look back on the firm’s achievements and history over the past 20 years and express its gratitude to local clients who have worked with it for a long time.
Since entering Vietnam in 2007 to provide systematic, comprehensive legal services for Korean companies entering the country and operating locally, Jipyong has built expertise in a range of areas, including M&A (mergers and acquisitions), finance and securities, with a focus on Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
The event began with opening remarks by Jipyong Managing Partner Lee Haeng-gyu and a welcome address by attorney Jeong Cheol. Congratulatory remarks were then delivered by Yoo Dong-ho, a foreign attorney who heads Jipyong’s Vietnam business division; Choi Bun-do, vice chairman of the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC); Cho Seong-woo, head of the Financial Supervisory Service’s Hanoi office; and Nguyen Thi Huong, a foreign attorney at Jipyong.
Attorney Shin Ju-yeon, head of Jipyong’s Ho Chi Minh City office, also thanked the clients. A commemorative video highlighting Jipyong’s history, key achievements and growth over the 20 years since it entered Vietnam was also screened.
A 20th anniversary ceremony was followed by dinner and networking. Attendees pledged to continue their exchanges and cooperation.
Lee said, “Jipyong was able to grow in Vietnam over the past 20 years thanks to the continued trust and support of our clients and relevant organizations in Korea and Vietnam.” He emphasized, “Building on our local expertise and global network, we will create a new 20 years so that cooperation between Korea and Vietnam can expand beyond investment and trade to encompass culture and a wide range of people-to-people exchanges.”
