【Financial News, Daegu = Reporter Kim Jang-wook】‘Daegu is the best destination for the second round of public institution relocations!’
Daegu City has drawn attention by preparing a comprehensive support plan to help employees of institutions relocating in the second round, and their families, settle stably in the region.
The plan comprises 20 tasks and 43 proposed support measures across seven areas: settlement support, housing, transportation, childcare, education, healthcare, and culture and leisure.
Mayor Choo Kyung-ho emphasized, “Daegu has transportation, healthcare, childcare, cultural, and shopping infrastructure among the best outside the Seoul metropolitan area, as well as the country's best environment for elementary and secondary education, reasonable housing costs, and a pleasant residential environment.” He added, “We will prepare carefully and provide support down to the smallest details so that there is no inconvenience to the operations of relocating institutions or to the lives of their employees and families.”
The core of this support plan is to provide effective, systematic support across all aspects of life so that employees of relocating institutions and their families can settle stably in Daegu.
It also reflects the city’s commitment to considering employees and their families by carefully addressing their needs during the relocation process. In particular, the city has developed policies that set it apart from other cities and provinces in areas of great interest to employees of relocating institutions, such as childcare, education, and housing, and has included matters requiring institutional improvements among the proposals to central government ministries.
Meanwhile, the city plans to prepare promptly to implement tasks it can carry out on its own, and to actively make proposals to relevant ministries on tasks requiring legal amendments or central government cooperation, such as tax reductions or urban rail extensions.
